Understanding Leo in the Zodiacal Year
Leo is the Fixed Fire sign, symbolizing unchanging or perpetual fire. It is technically a Masculine sign, and because it is ruled by the Sun, it has strong male and paternal aspects. The Sun, Sol, Helios, and Apollo are ancient classical gods of health, power, and leadership. Leo is the only sign that is ruled by the Sun.
Because of the Solar rulership, Leo people are said to be generous, idealistic, warm, and capable — but they are also considered headstrong, and prone to dominate others by seeking to be the center of attention in public gatherings.
