Understanding Cancer in the Zodiacal Year
Cancer is the Cardinal Water sign, symbolizing the primal ocean. It is technically a Feminine sign, and because it is ruled by the Moon, it has maternal aspects, favouring home-life. Luna, the Moon, is the ancient Roman goddess of motherhood and protection. Cancer is the only sign that the Moon rules.
Because of the Lunar rulership, Cancerian people are highly intuitive, introverted, health-conscious, and home-loving — but because Cancer is the Crab, they are also reclusive, and family-oriented.
