The Hoodoo Heritage Festivals, produced by the Association of Independent Spiritual Churches and staffed by members of the Association of Independent Readers and Rootworkers, provide a high-energy space for folk-magic learners, experienced home practitioners, professional readers and conjure doctors, and interested members of the public to get together, socialize, and take hands-on workshops from experienced members of AIRR and other well-known rootworkers.

Inaugurated in 2008, the Festival was created by Ms. Robin to broaden the scope and outreach of the conjure community -- and the huge amount of interest in hoodoo since then is a testament to her efforts. From 2008 through 2019, the Association of Independent Spiritual Churches sponsored an annual Hoodoo Heritage Festival in Forestville, California. In 2020 and 2021, due to the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic, the AISC Festival went virtual and was held online via Zoom. The 2022 and 2023 Virtual Hoodoo Heritage Festivals continue this new format, with 10 virtual workshops over a two-day period.

Our zoom classes in African American folk magic, root work, and hoodoo, accompanied by live chat and physical "goody-boxes" filled with spiritual supplies and printed books, teach you practical tricks and tips to take your conjure work to a new level of confidence and knowledge. In addition to spell casting and divination, we also showcase the mystery and magic of world-wide folk religions, and you can also book private readings with members of Hoodoo Psychics during the event.

The benefits of holding a virtual Festival are many:

  • Anyone can attend, from anywhere in the world.
  • 10 one-hour workshops by 10 speakers, scheduled over the course of 2 weekend days.
  • Receive written teaching materials and sample spells for all 10 workshops via downloadable PDF.
  • Receive books and spiritual supplies for all 10 hands-on workshops via postal mail Goody Box.
  • Chat via Zoom with the presenters during live Q and A sessions, after the workshops.
  • No expensive airfare.
  • No lodging expenditures.
  • No food budget.
  • Schedule private psychic readings at a reduced price during the festival, courtesy of Hoodoo Psychics.
