The Rooster or Gōngjī (pronounced gon-jee, meaning "male chicken" or "rooster") is the tenth animal of the lunar Chinese Zodiac, and marks the middle of the Autumn season. The Rooster represents the concepts of Courage, Leadership, and Ambition.

As the tenth of the 12 zodiacal animals, the Rooster embodies energy and initiative. Those born in the year of the Rooster are considered to be charismatic and sociable.
