My name is Evan Lionhart, spirit-led reader, astrologer and rootworker. At the age of five, my clairvoyant grandmother told me I could heal with my hands. It wasn’t until I entered my teens that I truly understood what she’d meant. Being of West Indian and Jamaican heritage, I can recall tales relayed by the women in my family about people back home who could "read your spirit" and make "bush" remedies to heal the sick. They didn’t consider these works explicitly magical -- it was just part of the culture.

I was raised Pentecostal, which made me no stranger to interpretive prophesy, miraculous healing and other wonders that occurred when Spirit was called down. From the age of eight, I had an experience that opened my eyes to energies that felt familiar but unlike anything I had felt in the Church. I started noticing and feeling presences of people, places and Nature in a very tangible way. As I got older I frequented bookstores and libraries, absorbing anything I could find on what most people would now consider to be metaphysical practices. I was (and still am) an avid reader, spending much of my outh delving into books on astrology, ESP, energy cultivation and projection. I began honing my gifts by working with crystals, meditation and engaging with elemental spirits.

I acquired a Tarot deck around first year of high school; the connection to the artwork was instantaneous, resonating and speaking to me. I had never held or worked with the Tarot before then, so I relied on the stories they painted in my mind for interpretation. I began my magical practice as a solitary witch and by my senior year was performing readings and energy work for friends. Some were apprehensive at first and a few seemed mystified, but to this day when I run into anyone I helped, they recall the experience fondly and with gratitude. Knowing that I was able to take some of the fear and confusion out of what is a truly beautiful tool made me feel like I was operating in the will of Spirit.

In the autumn of 2012, I began receiving impressions and visitations from ancestral and locational spirits This led me to a crossroads and the path I chose revealed a way I could be of better service to those around me. I came across Miss cat yronwode's course, graduating in June of 2016. After many years of focused study, I began crafting my own line of spiritual products under the name Lionhart Candles and Curios, in honor of my Leo grandmother and the ancestors.

I also enjoy assisting clients with spells and rituals for drawing and maintaining romance, finding gainful employment, increasing gambling or overall luck, spiritual healing and cultivating total success. My greatest joy comes from teaching magic: whether conjure, psychism, or simply showing others how to connect with Divinity. I primarily read through the lenses of astrology and the Tarot, but will occasionally turn playing cards or read the leaves; both hold a special place in my heart. I also practice bibliomancy, numerology and various forms of scrying including scrying by mirror or crystal and pendulum divination

I make it a rule not to judge anyone who comes to me; chances are I’ve been in your shoes at some point. I firmly believe that each person's path is unique and am in the business of building people up. My ultimate desire is to empower others with the knowledge needed to help themselves. If you pray loudly and from your heart, Spirit will answer.

“I am going to book another reading with you. You said something to me yesterday which was accurate. You said that she will be in touch with someone in her past, and that she would show me a picture of that person as a ‘joke’. She actualy did that last time we were together and I was wondering why…thanks for the clarity. Look forward to our next reading.” P.E., London
